PERCEPTION OF BEAUTY IS DISTORTED!

Models don't wake up looking like cover girls. Models with natural beauty that radiated through, still need a lot of work to get them in photo-ready shape. On the streets of New York, models go virtually unnoticed. The reason? It takes skilled makeup artists and hair stylists, the right lighting, a genius photographer, and hours of retouching for them to transform into familiar faces we worship and envy. But be warned: All is not what it seems. "When you look at the airbrushed magazines and advertisements, the models look like aliens when there's not one pore on their face - it's just not normal," says Bare Escentuals CEO Leslie Blodgett. "I would love for pores to make a comeback. There's something sexy about skin that has a little more reveal to it." Imperfections can indeed be charming. Which is why we wanted to show you that imperfected beauty can still be quite beautiful and that 'flawless' doesn't always have to be your final destination.
